Interjección y onomatopeya: bases para una delimitación pragmática

In this paper, we will be concerned with the semantic and pragmatic aspects of two types of expressions which are standardly treated in the literature as belonging to the same category: interjection and onomatopoeia. We will try to show that, being semantically different and making a different contribution to the process of utterance interpretation, they must be treated separately. Our proposal draws heavily on two relevance-theoretic distinctions: the conceptual/procedural distinction, and the distinction between the proposition expressed and the higher-level explicatures of an utterance.
