Imágenes de lo extranjero en el teatro español de propaganda política (1808-1814)

Abstract

Se ofrece en este trabajo una visión crítica sobre la imagen de lo francés y lo inglés en el teatro político español durante los años de la Guerra de la Independencia. En este teatro, lo francés se representa como la fuerza del mal, frente a los españoles, cuya causa está protegida por la divinidad. Con un sentido opuesto, sin embargo, aparece la imagen de lo inglés.

A critical vision is offered in this work on the image of the French and the English in the Spanish political theater during the years of the War of Independence. On these plays, the writers do not hesitate to portray the French as representatives of the forces of evil while the Spanish cause receives divine protection. With an opposed sense, nevertheless it appears the image of the English.
