In this paper we present a research about the journal Los Cuadernos de la Gaya
Ciencia, published in Spain between 1975 and 1976. Our approach uses a sociophilosophical methodology (Pierre Bourdieu, Randall Collins) in order to explore the historical context where this journal was born. Secondly, we place Los Cuadernos in the field of the Spanish philosophical journals in order to understand his singularity. At the same time, we make some remarks about the social origin of the journal’s contributors. Finally we focus in the contents, taking account of the main arguments, philosophical figures and intellectual trends invoked in the journal’s articles. In this way, we point specifically to the political subtext suggested by the journal essays
