Las Controversias de Gibraltar

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado analiza el estado de la controversia sobre Gibraltar, desde una perspectiva tanto española como británica y teniendo en cuenta los intereses y aspiraciones de la población gibraltareña. Se hará un repaso a sus antecedentes históricos y sobre la vigencia y efectos que el Tratado de Utrecht tiene actualmente en el contencioso. El caso de Gibraltar vendrá expuesto por un estudio de la frontera y la diversa normativa aplicable a ésta, tanto interna como de la Unión Europea. Otros asuntos como el conflicto marítimo, la cooperación internacional y sus desencuentros suscitados serán tenidos en cuenta para tener una visión global y comprender mejor hacia donde nos encaminamos.

This End of Degree Project analyzes the status of the dispute over Gibraltar, from both a Spanish and British perspective and taking into account the interests and aspirations of the people of Gibraltar. A review of its historical background will be made and the force and effects of the Treaty of Utrecht in the dispute. Gibraltar's case will come forth by a study of the border and the various regulations applicable to it, both national law and the European Union law. Other issues such as the maritime conflict, international cooperation and disagreements raised will be taken into account to have a global view and a better understanding where we are headed.
