Los orígenes del panorama tribal del Sahara Occidental a través de la arqueología extensiva

Abstract

El fenómeno morabítico, de hondo componente socio-religioso en sus primeras etapas, derivó a un papel cada vez más político y militar durante los siglos XV y XVI; momento que los grupos ḥassāníes recién instalados al sur del Sūs aprovecharon para conformar estructuras tribales con vistas a articular su influencia en el territorio, a imitación de algunos bereberes. El forzado equilibrio entre los dos grupos étnicos acabó con la Guerra de Char Bubba, en que los ḥassāníes se impusieron. A partir de ahí convergió un interés en establecer genealogías más o menos verídicas con que justificar ocasionalmente su prevalencia social. La oportunidad de hacer una prospección extensiva sobre una gran cantidad de morabitos de Marruecos, Sahara Occidental, Mauritania y Senegal, nos ha permitido reconocer los correspondientes a personajes fundadores de algunas de las actuales tribus, y verificar, desde un punto de vista arqueológico, sus orígenes materiales, diferenciando el modelo morabítico religioso del cherifiano de tipo político.

The maraboutic phenomenon of deep social-religious component in its early stages derived to an increasingly political and military role during the 15 and 16 centuries; moment that Hassanie groups, newly installed south of the Sūs, took to form tribal structures in order to articulate its influence in the territory, in imitation of some Berbers. The forced balance between the two ethnic groups ended with the Char Bouba War, when the Hassanie were imposed. From there, converged an interest in establishing more or less truthful genealogies occasionally to justify their social prevalence. The opportunity to make an extensive survey of a lot of marabouts of Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania and Senegal has allowed us to recognize those corresponding to founders of some of the existing tribes, and verify, from an archaeological point of view, their material origins, highlighting the religious marabout model from the sherifian type.
