El Islam y la literatura del Grial en perspectiva comparada

Abstract

El presente artículo pretende establecer un paralelismo sobre el tema del Grial entre las primeras fuentes del Islam y la literatura persa, por una parte, y por otra, la literatura medieval occidental, abordando dos obras: la francesa, Le Conte du Graal de Chrétien de Troyes y la alemana, Parzival de Wolfram von Eschenbach. Tras un breve repaso del origen oriental del Grial, se estudian sus manifestaciones como recipiente y piedra en el marco de la simbología islámica, etimología del término y vinculación con el principio femenino.

This article aims to establish a parallelism on the Grail theme between the first Islamic sources y the Persian literature, on one side, and on the other, the Western medieval literature, dealing with two works: the French, Le Conte du Graal by Chrétien de Troyes and the German, Parzival by Wolfram von Eschenbach. After a brief review of the eastern origin of the Grail, its manifestations as a vessel and stone within the framework of Islamic symbology, term etymology, and relationship with the feminine principle are provided.
