Abstract

Este estudio tiene por finalidad resaltar la importancia del fondo documental de la casa comercial José Matía de Cádiz, custodiado en el Archivo de la Universidad de Cádiz, como fuente primaria de información para la investigación tanto de la historia de las actividades del negocio de la propia casa como del comercio colonial de la ciudad y del resto de España con Filipinas a mitad del siglo xix

The purpose of this study is to highlight the importance of the documentary collection of the trading house José Matía de Cádiz, guarded in the Archive of the University of Cádiz, as a primary source of information for the investigation of both the history of the business activities of the trading house and the colonial trade of this city and the rest of Spain with the Philippines in the middle of the xix century.
