abstract = {En  el  presente  trabajo  abordamos  las  relaciones  entre  la  ciudad  de Cádiz y el marquesado de Ayamonte en la transición a la Modernidad. Por una parte, se analizan los orígenes y la formación de la casa de Ayamonte, así como la situación económica y social de Andalucía a finales de la Edad Media. Por otra parte, se presenta un caso de estudio, el pleito de 1529, que permite profundizar en los contactos marítimos entre Cádiz y Ayamonte. El detonante del litigio fue el  secuestro  por  las  autoridades  gaditanas  de  un  relevante  cargamento  de  trigo  con destino a Ayamonte. La disputa entre las autoridades de Cádiz y el marqués de  Ayamonte  fue  ocasionada  por  motivaciones  fiscales,  pero  también  por  la  ne-cesidad  de  cereal  en  Cádiz.  Este  registro  sirve  para  estudiar  el  desarrollo  de  un  conflicto marítimo y su resolución.},
abstract = {In  this  paper  we  address  the  relationships  between  the  city  of  Cadiz and the marquisate of Ayamonte in the transition to Modernity. On the one hand, we analyze the origins and formation of the House of Ayamonte, as well as we study the economic and social context of Andalusia at the end of the Middle Ages. On the other hand, this research is based on a case study that allows us to delve  into  maritime  contacts  among  Cadiz  and  Ayamonte.  The  cause  of  the  liti-gation  was  the  seizure  of  a  shipment  of  grain  by  the  authorities  of  Cadiz  bound  for Ayamonte. The argument between the authorities of Cadiz and the Marquis of Ayamonte was caused by fiscal causes, but also by the need to grain in Cadiz. This document was used to study the course of the maritime conflict and its resolution.},
