According to this traditional belief, a foetus can stop its growth just to resume it after a given period is elapsed, maybe one, two, five years… or maybe he never awakes. Until Moroccan independence, this tradition was deeply rooted because of the support received from the Maliki legislative school. The purpose of this paper is to detect the survival of the “sleeping child” tradition in Morocco and to find out whether being aware of this phenomenon is important or not for translators and interpreters. %K Contexto sociocultural %K traductor %K intérprete %K lingüística %K sistema sanitario %K plano jurídico %K aspecto cultural %K niño dormido %K escuela malikí %K Sociocultural Context %K Translator %K Interpreter %K Linguistics %K Healthcare System %K Cultural Aspects %K Sleeping Child %K Maliki School %~ Universidad de Cádiz
