It was located in 2006, by José́ Luis Biedma and Raúl González Gallero, and its remains have not been studied up until the date when this preliminary research was initiated. This research has applied a non-intrusive methodology to determine whether it is advisable and convenient to continue the study of the site with other techniques. Near Punta Carnero, in the accesses to the Getares anchorage, at a depth of between -24 and - 26 m.a.s.l., the surface evidence of the wreck was located, being very scarce, almost reduced to elements of its cargo. It consists of a series of amphorae vessels whose typologies and pastes allow us to associate it with a Roman cultural context and a chronology of the end of the 2nd century AD. The method used is archaeological, applying the specific techniques of underwater archaeology, in order to adapt it to the specific conditions and problems of the marine environment. Through the nonintrusive methodology, consisting of prospecting without removing the land and documenting the material that lies on the seabed, a large amount of information can be obtained, to answer the research questions. This paper presents the results of this preliminary study, relating to the chronology of the site, its extension and possible formation process, the materials found and their dispersion, which will allow it to be contextualized in the historical discourse of maritime traffic and nautical use of the Bay of Algeciras, in the Roman period. Finally, we will point out the limitations and difficulties of the underwater archaeological work, as well as proposals for continuity. %K Underwater Archaeology %K shipwreck %K Bay of Algeciras %K 2nd century AD %K fish-based products amphorae %K nonintrusive techniques %K Arqueología Subacuática %K pecio %K bahía de Algeciras %K siglo II d.C. %K ánforas de salazón %K técnicas no intrusivas %~ Universidad de Cádiz
