The initiative aimed to promote active and student-centred learning by engaging 38 students in the creation of educational videos on emerging and disruptive technologies in the tourism sector. The videos were evaluated using a specifically designed rubric and published on YouTube to foster open dissemination and authentic learning experiences. The methodology combined project-based learning, teamwork, digital competence development, and formative assessment. Results show that the project enhanced conceptual learning, reinforced the connection between theory and practice, and stimulated students’ motivation. Participants reported significant improvements in transversal skills such as digital literacy, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. The open publication of the videos acted as a motivating factor and provided students with an authentic audience, while the rubric ensured transparency and fairness in the evaluation. The experience confirms the effectiveness of integrating multimedia production and open digital platforms into higher education teaching. Despite challenges related to workload and individual preferences towards public exposure, the project proved to be a replicable and scalable strategy, offering valuable insights for the design of innovative and student-centred teaching practices in tourism education and beyond. %~ Universidad de Cádiz
