The College should meet state of the art international standards. Based on this view early in the existence of the College faculty and students were send abroad for study and perfection. In line with the ideas of Virgili travels were organized to centers of excellence in surgery as well as medicine. Described are the travels to the Universities of Leiden and Bologna (1752-1757) of four students, who expanded their knowledge and practical skills in surgery and medicine and obtained a doctorate. All four made a career at the College and became Maestros.; Lacomba y Virgili, fundadores del Real Colegio de Cirugía de Cádiz, tuvieron un objetivo mutuo: un Colegio fundado en una educación académica y clínica moderna en cirugía y medicina. El Colegio debe cumplir con los estándares internacionales más avanzados y, debido a que deseaban la mejor formación para sus miembros, muchos de los estudiantes fueron enviados al extranjero para estudiar y perfeccionarse. El objeto de este artículo es visibilizar a estas mujeres y analizar los valores de género que ello supuso mediante el análisis de los fondos conservados en el mencionado archivo.; In the year 1817 the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Cadiz tried to constitute a Board of Ladies in the capital. The Archive of the University of Cadiz keeps a complete list of the women who participated in this initiative, of great historical value and interest for the History of Women and the History of Spain. El objetivo que nos marcamos es poner de manifiesto la superación de la formación reglada de estas alumnas. Nuestra metodología se ha basado fundamentalmente en la consulta de los archivos propios de Salus Infirmorum, que nos han llevado a los fondos del Archivo de la Universidad de Cádiz, enriqueciendo nuestro trabajo con el análisis de todos los expedientes de las alumnas que obtuvieron su titulación de enfermeras, el cual algunas lo ampliaron con el de matrona.; The Salus Infirmorum School of Nurses in Tangier was recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the training of women in the field of nursing during the Spanish protectorate. The objective that we set ourselves is to show the overcoming of the regulated training of these students. Our methodology has been based fundamentally on consulting the Salus Infirmorum's own Archives, which have led us to the archives of the Archive of the University of Cádiz, enriching our work with the results of all the records of the students who obtained their degree of nurses and some expanded it with that of midwife. 2021-02-01T00:00:00Z
