Abstract

Understanding the ethnoarchaeology of hunter-gatherer societies as a discipline that can contribute to the development of the methodology in archaeology, as well as to generate models explaining about these social formations, and assuming also that in these societies the main contradiction between social production and reproduction is of fundamental importance to understand its internal logic, the study of ethnographic material obtained at the end of the 19th century and early 20th of yámana and selk'nam societies of Tierra de Fuego, then in the process of social disintegration, it has allowed us to analyze the ritual ceremonies that those practiced, as well as stories and myths, to put them in relation to social production and reproduction. This analysis has allowed us to ascertain that such practices and symbolic representations are a reflection of social relationships and contrast the existence of an ideological construction that masking the relations of male domination over women.
