Los sistemas y medios de navegación en el ámbito atlántico durante la prehistoria

Abstract

En dicho trabajo se analizarán los medios y técnicas de navegación prehistórica en el ámbito del atlántico. Del mismo modo se indagará en las fuentes materiales (especialmente hallazgos directos, como pecios, y arte rupestre, además de algunos elementos cerámicos). No se trata de un trabajo dedicado al análisis de los elementos materiales de los barcos (aunque se harán referencias en alguna ocasión), sino que se trata del estudio de técnicas de navegación, el medio (y sus condicionantes) y los derroteros que llevaron a nuestros antepasados a aventurarse más allá de lo desconocido, allende los mares.

In this work the means and techniques of navigation in the prehistoric Atlantic will be analyzed. Similarly, the material sources (especially direct findings, such as shipwrecks, cave arts and some ceramic elements) will be investigated. The work is not concerned with the analysis of the material elements of the boats (though occasionally there might be some references on the matter) nevertheless, it is the study of techniques of navigation, the methods (their conditions) and the paths that led our ancestors to venture the unknown, beyond the seas.
