Abstract

The objective of this academic project is to describe and size the units needed to obtain a stream of a solution with a high concentration of amino acids intended to be commercialized as biofertilizer, and a stream of regenerated water that satisfies the requirements of the RD 1620/2017, from wastewater treated in the wastewater plant of Medina Sidonia. The core of the plant is the HRAP photobioreactors system and the rest of units have been sized from the results of its design. Among the rest of the units there is a pH neutralizer reactor, a liquid-solid separator, a flow equalizer, and a pumping well. An enzymatic bioreactor for the protein hydrolysis and its heating system has also been defined and sized. Plans, a scope statement document, a basic health and safety study, and an environmental impact assessment have been done for this academic project along with a simple economical assessment in which an economic viability study has been completed as well as the budget estimation.
