La Ruta Sagrada Melkart-Hércules: Contexto histórico para una ruta cultural y turística litoral en la provincia de Cádiz

Abstract

Melkart, deidad fenicia, protector de las empresas comerciales y las colonizaciones realizadas por Tiro, logrará en Gadir un papel primordial, reflejándose éste en la construcción del Herakleion, con un gran papel económico y religioso. Su persona será tan importante que se verá asimilado al mayor héroe romano, Hércules, dando lugar a la representación más conocida, el Hércules Gaditano.

En relación con este elemento patrimonial, se elaborará una ruta turística marítima que tendrá como base los santuarios, fenicios y romanos, ubicados en la provincia de Cádiz.
