Estado de la cuestión de la Responsabilidad Social en el contexto sanitario

Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio es describir el desarrollo científico en el ámbito de la Responsabilidad Social (RS) en el contexto sanitario. Este estudio se desarrolla inicialmente con un análisis del marco conceptual a través de los antecedentes teóricos de la RS y la evolución del concepto de la RS. Por medio de un estudio de corte bibliométrico de la producción científica de los últimos veinte años (1994-2014, primer cuatrimestre) se muestra una imagen próxima del estado real de la cuestión, lo que supone un análisis del nivel de difusión y desarrollo científico en esta materia. Así mismo se realiza por medio de un análisis cuali-cuantitativo de las referencias bibliográficas que permite describir la situación general de la producción científica en este tema para finalmente resumir los principales resultados y conclusiones. La escasa presencia de estudios de corte bibliométrico y de análisis de citaciones de RS en el contexto sanitario, en general, avalan la necesidad de realizar investigaciones de este tipo que faciliten el análisis de la producción científica en este elemento. Lo cual ayudará a concretar, en su caso, una definición de RS en el contexto sanitario, identificación de los principales stakeholders o grupos de interés, así como delimitar las estrategias de gestión sanitaria en materia de RS y el impacto de éstas en estos grupos de interés, que facilitaría una mayor integración de la RS en la gestión sanitaria. La ausencia de referencias alusivas a la RS en el contexto sanitario desde una perspectiva global e integradora que permita la inserción de la RS en los procesos operacionales de los centros sanitarios, hace inferir que la RS en este contexto no es tratada a un nivel estratégico y menos aún en la operativa multidimensional de los centros sanitarios, sino más bien a través de acciones aisladas, en su mayoría inconexas con una estrategia clara y definida. Los resultados avalan la necesidad de incrementar la producción científica en torno a la RS en el contexto sanitario, tanto desde el punto de vista empírico como trabajos de corte teórico y conceptual con objeto de facilitar la compresión e integración de la RS sanitaria.

The aim of this study is to describe the scientific development in the field of Social Responsibility (SR) in the healthcare context. This study was initially developed with an analysis of the conceptual framework through the theoretical background of the SR and the evolution of the concept of SR. By means of a bibliometric study of scientific production of the last twenty years (1994-2014, until firsts four months) a forthcoming image of the real state of the matter is shown, which is an analysis of the level of scientific development and diffusion this matter. Likewise, is conducted a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the references for describing the general situation of the scientific production in this topic and finally summarize the main results and conclusions. The limited presence of studies bibliometrics and citation analysis of SR in the health context, in general, support the need for such researches to facilitate the analysis of scientific production in this element. Which will help identify, if necessary, a definition of SR in the healthcare context, identification of main stakeholders, as well as defining health management strategies on SR and its impact on these stakeholders, it would facilitate greater integration of SR in health management. The absence of studies about the SR in the health context from a global and inclusive perspective that allows the insertion of the RS in the operational processes of the health centers, it does infer that the SR in this context is not treated at a strategic level and even less in the multidimensional operational health centers, but rather to through isolated actions, mostly unconnected with a clearly defined strategy. The results support the need to increase scientific production around the SR in the health context, both from an empirical point of view as theoretical and conceptual work to facilitate the understanding and integration of health SR.
