Cuadernos de Gibraltar - Gibraltar Reports
Abstract

The "question of Gibraltar" deserved a periodical which, from the academic world, dealt with the issues directly or indirectly linked to the dispute. A publication to analyse latent or existing problems and conflicts, and to provide the relevant documentation that arises unceasingly from this historic disagreement between the British, Spanish and Gibraltarians. The Cuadernos de Gibraltar / Gibraltar Reports aim to fill this gap, and serve as a channel for debates and ideas with rigor and academic foundation, as well as a support and reference for documentation; documentation that tends to be lost or disappear quickly (or unexpectedly) in the jungle of the Internet, and in the simplification that the media sometimes make when they deal with any of the multiple edges of the Gibraltarian problem. The Journal is based on the planned and continuous teamwork of the Area of Public International Law and International Relations and the Jean Monnet Chair "Immigration and Borders" of Cadiz, which has received important institutional support in its continued work. In fact, since 2002 the Cadiz team has been dealing with and following the issue of Gibraltar and cross-border cooperation with the Campo de Gibraltar with a focus on international and European law; in turn, this subject is framed within the lines of research of the Research Group and Team, dedicated to the analysis of the international legal issues and problems of the Strait Area, relating to sovereignty, borders, cross-border cooperation and immigration issues, including cooperation with Morocco.
