Abstract

The document reflects the formalization of more than forty years of practice of communication processes and teaching some basic concepts about the practice of Communication for Development. This article starts with an unorthodox definition of development, followed by a definition of a theoretical model of communication, different from the commonly accepted too. It presents the significances and limits of communication processes. This research follows a rough draft of neuropsychobiological perception processes of the messages, basically the audiovisual treatment, in which language elements alphanumeric, graphics and visual signs are based. Determines and evaluates an essential input, but not enough, for the development model proposed: the “knowledge”, as integrating elements of knowledge described and enrolled. It analyzes the role of the different instruments available for the production and reproduction of messages and criteria for choosing them. It discuss some experiences in rural areas and in university circles. And finally, consider the basic problem of the training of professionals.
