Abstract
In the following essay, we will reconstruct the course of the section known as "Madre Vieja" of the Guadalete River through the use of Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.). To do this, we wanted to start georeferencing the historical cartography where the elder channel of this river is appreciated, making a brief review of its evolution until arriving at the most recent orthophoto. In addition, we will carry out an analysis through the Digital Terrain Models (D.T.M.), with which we will look for the remains of the original layout left by the old channel of the river. Finally, we will propose an approach for our case of study using the flight of the drone to generate a higher quality orthophoto.
