Methodology: The work is based on a bibliographic review of publications obtained from electronic databases. Discussion: A high percentage of pregnant women with Gestational Diabetes were unaware of their disease. It is precisely this situation of ignorance that can be associated with a large number of obstetric and neonatal complications. Healthy lifestyle habits are part of the treatment of Gestational Diabetes. If optimal control cannot be achieved with lifestyle modifications, pharmacological treatment will be necessary. Conclusion: The role of nursing is fundamental in the educational intervention during the first weeks of pregnancy to prevent obstetric and neonatal complications through proper follow-up and control.es_ES
