La iglesia de San Lorenzo de Cádiz: Un templo funerario

Abstract

La iglesia de San Lorenzo de Cádiz fue proyectada por el obispo Lorenzo Armengual de la Mota (1663-1730) como su lugar de enterramiento. En este texto, defendemos una lectura iconológica del espacio, en base a la vida del prelado, y aportamos nuevos datos y documentos que profundizan en la génesis y evolución del templo hasta la muerte del promotor.

The Saint Lawrence church in Cadiz was thought by the bishop Lorenzo Armengual de la Mota (1663-1730) as his resting place. In this paper, we propose an iconological lecture of this building, based on his life, and we provide new information and documents, that will get deeper in the birth and evolution of the temple until the promoter death
