Abstract

Crime policy must respond to crime-related problems in a preventive manner. Crime is a social problem, which is defined and originates in the heart of the community, hence any proposal that intends to intervene in this area must consider how to deliberately reduce this type of conflict. The restorative model of criminal justice offers a set of tools with the capacity to provide an appropriate response from society itself. This new social approach to criminal policy needs a strong institutional and legal impetus to realize its full preventive potential. The tools of restorative justice are becoming more and more important and are becoming a suitable and effective response to achieve crime prevention and contribute to the strengthening of social community ties
