The objective of this work is to outline some remarks on the functioning of the nobility patronage on the regular clergy and especially the repercussions on the construction process and the devotional context of the monastic communities. We take as a case study the disappeared Discalced Carmelite Fathers of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios in the Cordovan village of Benamejí. After analyzing the process of foundation and construction, we approach to the evolution in the devotions promoted in the convent, from those chosen by the founders to the favorite devotions of the Carmelites order as a way to compensate for the progressive withdrawal of noble support.
