| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | The complexity of the human brain has fascinated the scientific community since immemorial times. In recent years, technological and computational development has been inspired by its high processing capability and its ability to learn and adapt: this is the birth of artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning.
Furthermore, in the last decade, the growing popularity of these models has led to their application to complex real-world problems described by mathematical, physical, biological and engineering systems, thusgiving rise to neural networks capable of incorporating the underlying information of reality. In particular, interest in physics-informed neural networks (PINN) used in solving problems with partial differential equations (PDE) has recently experienced exponential growth, specially since 2019.
In this work, the main aspects of the structure of artificial neural networks are introduced, including their origin, motivation, basic structure and application. Moreover, the mathematical notions and results that establish the basis of these model will be analyzed in detail, while highlighting the ideas and mechanisms responsible for their effectiveness, diversity and representativeness. In addition, it will be presented and approach to the universal approximation theorem, characterized by its transcendence in various areas of mathematics and computer sciences.
Finally, a chapter will be dedicated to the presentation of the basic notions of physics-informed neural networks (PINN), highlighting the ideas that lead them as structures of interest in the scientific field, as well as the main theorical-practical advances achieved for these structures in recent years. Lastly, as a proof of its promising potential, two problems, based on partial differential equations, are presented and solved using this new paradigm. | es_ES |
