The IV Worldwide Conference on the Women granted great importance to the concept of health defined not only as the absence of disease, but also as physical, emotional and social well-being. The emotional Intelligence Laboratory (University of Cádiz) expects to work on the principles of the Declaration and the Platform for the Action of Beijing. Thanks to the collaboration of the Municipal Foundation of the Woman (City council of Cadiz), we have designed a set of performances destined to develop aspects related to women’s physical, emotional and social well-being. For this reason, we considered the importance of developing a program on the emotional socialization of women based on Mayer and Salovey’s (1997) Emotional Intelligence Model. Our program is centred in the study of different basic and social emotions established in the four branches of this model: Perceiving emotions; Using emotions; Understanding emotional meanings; Managing emotions.
