The fundamental measure (FM) theory for nearest-neighbor exclusion lattice gases was studied. FM theory yields the scaled particle equation of state. The most genuine property of FM theory is dimensional crossover. The FM theory proposes a hierarchical scheme of approximations under the basis of describing in an exact manner clusters of increasing size.es_ES
