A ver: de verbo de percepción visual a marcador discursivo

Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es describir, a partir de un corpus diacrónico de los siglos XIII, XV, XVII, XIX y XXI, la evolución de la expresión a ver, que involucra un cambio en la sintaxis y semántica del verbo ver, de verbo de percepción visual a marcador discursivo. Observaremos que el cambio se da de manera gradual teniendo como consecuencia diferencias en las características morfológicas, sintácticas y semánticas del marcador frente al verbo de percepción visual. Para mostrar el cambio referido, en nuestro análisis distinguimos cuatro tipos de construcciones según su significado; a) significado perceptivo visual; b) significado cognitivo con base en la percepción visual; c) significado cognitivo o significado modal; d) marcador del discurso. Los resultados muestran que el uso de a ver como marcador discursivo se presenta a partir del siglo XIX

Le but de cet article est de décrire, à partir d’un corpus diachronique des XIIIème, XVème, XVIIème, XIXème et XXIème siècles, l’évolution de l’expression a ver, laquelle implique un changement syntactique et sémantique du verbe ver, de verbe de perception visuelle à marqueur discursif. Le changement est un processus graduel ayant comme conséquences des modifications morphologiques, syntaxiques et sémantiques du marqueur discursif par rapport au verbe de perception visuelle. Afin de montrer le changement indiqué, notre analyse distingue quatre types des constructions selon sa signification : a) signification de perception visuelle ; b) signification cognitive basée sur la perception visuelle ; c) signification cognitive ou signification modale ; d) marqueur discursif. Les résultats montrent que l’utilisation de «a ver» comme mar-queur discursif a commencé au XIXème siècle

The aim of this paper is to describe, from a diachronic corpus of the 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th y 21th centuries, the evolution of the Spanish expression a ver. This expression involves a change in the syntax and the semantics of the verb ver ‘to see’, from a visual perception verb to a discursive marker. We will show that change occurs gradually, resulting in differences in morphological, syntactic and semantic characteristics of the marker versus the visual perception verb. Supported by corpus analysis, we will show also that change gave raise to four types of constructions according to its meaning; a) a visual perceptual meaning; b) a cognitive meaning based on visual perception; c) a cognitive meaning or modal meaning; d) a discourse marker. The results reveal that the use of a ver as a discursive marker arose from the 19th century
