La formación de locuciones en la fraseología metalingüística del español y el inglés

Abstract

En el marco de la fraseología metalingüística, el presente trabajo expone los resultados del análisis cognitivo-contrastivo de un corpus bilingüe de 132 locuciones metalingüísticas del español y del inglés. Para ello, se adopta la teoría de la metáfora conceptual, planteada desde la lingüística cognitiva, con el objetivo de describir y comparar la base figurada de las unidades de cada lengua. Se comprueba que el 66 % de las unidades analizadas tienen una base metafórica o metonímica idéntica o similar, en la que destaca una concepción de la comunicación lingüística, bien como una transferencia de objetos del emisor al receptor (dar a entender – to give to understand) a partir de la metáfora del conducto, bien como movimiento en el espacio hacia una determinada dirección (volverse atrás – to back out) mediante la metáfora HABLAR ES PRODUCIRSE MOVIMIENTO EN EL ESPACIO.

Within the framework of metalinguistic phraseology, this paper reports on the results of the cognitive-contrastive analysis of a bilingual corpus consisting of 132 metalinguistic idioms in Spanish and English. To do this, based on the cognitive linguistics, we use the conceptual metaphor theory to describe and compare the figurative basis of the units in both languages. Results show that 66 % of the units are based on metaphors or metonymies which are similar or identical both in Spanish and English. Linguistic communication is mainly represented either as transferring objects from the speaker to the receiver (dar a entender – to give to understand) based on the conduit metaphor, or as movement in the space towards a destination (volverse atrás – to back out) due to the metaphor SPEAKING IS MOVEMENT IN THE SPACE .

Dans le cadre de la phraséologie métalinguistique, cet article présente les résultats de l’analyse cognitive-contrastive d’un corpus bilingue de 132 expressions figées métalinguistiques en espagnol et anglais. Pour cela, on adopte la théorie de la métaphore conceptuelle, issue de la linguistique cognitive, dans le but de décrire et de comparer la base figurative des unités de chaque langue.
