Abstract
En el presente artículo se pone en valor el papel jugado por el escultor José de Arce y su seguidor Alfonso Martínez en la evolución del prototipo iconográfico y escultórico del Niño Jesús y San Juanito de la segunda mitad del siglo XVII. Se hace una revisión de imágenes identificadas como del círculo de los Ribas y se proponen nuevas atribuciones de piezas sevillanas y gaditanas.
 
This article values the role played by the sculptor José de Arce and his follower Alfonso Martínez in the evolution of the iconographic and sculptural prototype of the Child Jesus and Saint John of the second half of the 17th century. A review of images identified as from the circle of the Ribas is made and new attributions of sevillian and Cadiz pieces are proposed.
