Un injerto academicista en la Lleida de finales del siglo XVIII: la iglesia de Torrefarrera

Abstract

Con este trabajo pretendemos dar a conocer el proceso constructivo de los templos parroquiales del obispado de Lleida durante la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII, con el ejemplo de la iglesia de Torrefarrera. Es un momento donde existen serios problemas de financiación, siempre con la negativa por parte de los señores jurisdiccionales de colaborar en su construcción. En Torrefarrera se dio el caso que la iglesia fue proyectada por el arquitecto Antonio Losada, imponiéndose de esta forma la estética de la Real Academia de San Fernando de Madrid.

With this work we intend to make known the construction process of the parish temples of the bishopric of Lleida during the second half of the 18th century, with the example of the Torrefarrera church. It is a time when there are serious financing problems, always with the refusal of the jurisdictional gentlemen to collaborate in its construction. In Torrefarrera it was the case that the church was designed by the architect Antonio Losada, thus imposing the aesthetics of the Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid.
