This study investigated the potential roles of GnIH and Kiss2 as mediators between the pineal organ and the reproductive axis in European sea bass. The results showed that pinealectomy (Px) significantly reduced night-time plasma melatonin levels and altered gnih and kiss2 expression depending on the season. These results are demonstrating how GnIH and Kiss2 are involved in the transmission of photoperiodic signals to the reproductive axis, advancing knowledge on environmental hormonal regulation.
