Sentido de comunidad que se desarrolla en las regiones de América Latina

Abstract

El objetivo del presente artículo fue describir el sentido de comunidad que se desarrolla en las regiones latinoamericanas. Se analiza la influencia de factores históricos, geográficos y culturales en la cohesión comunitaria y la construcción de sentido sobre y en el territorio, para así generar reflexiones y comprensiones en torno a cómo dichas comunidades se adaptan y transforman. Se observa así cómo logran conservar elementos de su identidad y cohesión en un mundo cada vez más interconectado, para proyectar futuras direcciones hacia el fortalecimiento de las redes sociales y el desarrollo comunitario. Se realiza un estudio documental de tipo descriptivo. Se seleccionan 71 documentos en las bases de datos Scopus, Web of Science, Dialnet, Scielo, Redalyc y Google Scholar, en organizaciones internacionales y repositorios de universidades latinoamericanas. El sentido de comunidad es visto de varias maneras: como un estado final positivo en sí mismo; un predictor de otros resultados positivos o negativos; un proceso en el cual los miembros interactúan, se identifican, brindan apoyo social y hacen sus propias contribuciones al bien común. El sentido de comunidad es un constructo psicosocial importante para la vida diaria de sus habitantes, ya que es visto como piedra angular del orden social y la convivencia.

The objective of this article was to describe the sense of community that develops in Latin American regions, analyzing the influence of historical, geographical and cultural factors on community cohesion and the construction of meaning on and in the territory, in order to generate reflections and understanding of how these communities adapt and transform, managing to preserve elements of their identity and cohesion in an increasingly interconnected world, to project future directions towards the strengthening of social networks and community development. A descriptive documentary study was carried out. Seventy-one documents were selected from Scopus, Web of Science, Dialnet, Scielo, Redalyc and Google Scholar databases, international organizations, and repositories of Latin American universities. Sense of community is viewed in several ways: as a positive end state in itself; a predictor of other positive or negative outcomes; a process in which members interact, identify with each other, provide social support, and make their own contributions to the common good. The sense of community is an important psychosocial construct for the daily lives of its inhabitants, as it is seen as a cornerstone of social order and coexistence.
