However, a studycarried out by Orenes and Johnson-Laird suggests that thistheory is wrong because thereare cases in which the disjunctionintroduction rule appearsto be applied by individuals.Orenes and Johnson-Laird explaintheir results based on themental models theory. Nevertheless,in this paper, I try toshow that, if it is assumed thatpeople recover, by means of asemantic analysis of possibilities, the real logical forms ofpropositions before using formalrules, the mental logic theorycan also explain the resultsachieved by Orenes and Johnson-Laird. Likewise, I includesome comments on the possibilitythat both theories are complementaryand related.
