RT journal article T1 A Shared Biosynthetic Pathway for Botcinins and Botrylactones Revealed through Gene Deletions A1 Massaroli, Michelli A1 Moraga Galindo, Javier A1 Bastos borges, Keyller A1 Ramírez-Fernández, Jacinto A1 Viaud, Muriel A1 González Collado, Isidro A1 Durán Patrón, Rosa María A1 Hernández Galán, Rosario A2 Química Orgánica K1 biosynthesis K1 botcinin K1 botrylactone K1 Botrytis cinerea K1 polyketides AB Isotopic labelling experiments and the study of mutants with disrupted genes encoding botcinic acid have revealed a common link in the biosynthesis of the polyketide toxins excreted by Botrytis cinerea: botcinins and botrylactones. Furthermore, the results reported here shed light on the origin of the starter unit, thereby solving a long-standing mystery in the biosynthesis of botcinins.
