AB The present study aims to describe the perceptions about the habits of use on Wikipedia and itsreliability that have 390 1st year chemistry students of Degrees in the area of Experimental Sciences. Aquestionnaire was applied to the 390 participants and was complemented by individual interviews to 33 of them.The results indicate that the vast majority of participants use Wikipedia as a resource for learning chemistry,mainly because it contains information on any topic and because of its position in Internet search engines.Despite this, they grant it very little reliability due to its open content edition, mainly against traditional resourcessuch as textbooks and the poor opinion of their teachers.
