AB This work presents partial findings of researchthat began in 2015 which aims to understandhow alternative journalism is evolving in thedigital sphere in Brazil. We discuss the conceptof alternative journalism based on the contextas well as the main characteristics of this kind ofjournalism, and focused our data gathering onthe type of sources consulted by the websites.We considered four kinds of sources: Official,Unofficial, Expert, and Witness. We then useddocumental and content analysis of over 190articles. This preliminary result shows that thiskind of website cites, still, a majority of Officialand Experts sources.
