The first one aims to analyses how fashion/socialads talk to the public. The second one focuses on thedecisions of Italian Istituto dell’Autodisciplina Pubblicitariaabout fashion/social ads, aiming to understand when andhow fashion/social advertising doesn’t talk ethically. In respect of both the quoted perspectives, the researchshows that FSA gives rise to an effective and efficientadvertising model in terms of values, texts and practices(especially referring to the so-called “unconventional socialadvertising”). At the same time, the research highlightsthe shift between “thinking ethically” (on which FSAshould be grounded) and “talking ethically”; this shiftcauses consistent problems concerning the managementof ethical issues in Italian advertising.
