RT journal article T1 Generalised Asymptotic Solutions for the Inflaton in the Oscillatory Phase of Reheating A1 Álvarez, Gabriel A1 Martínez Alonso, Luis A1 Medina Reus, Elena Blanca A2 Matemáticas K1 inflationary universe K1 reheating K1 asymptotic expansions AB We determine generalised asymptotic solutions for the inflaton field, the Hubble parameter, and the equation-of-state parameter valid during the oscillatory phase of reheating for potentials thatclose to their global minima behave as even monomial potentials. For the quadratic potential, wederive a generalised asymptotic expansion for the inflaton with respect to the scale set by inversepowers of the cosmic time. For the quartic potential, we derive an explicit, two-term generalisedasymptotic solution in terms of Jacobi elliptic functions, with a scale set by inverse powers of thesquare root of the cosmic time. In the general case, we find similar two-term solutions where theleading order term is defined implicitly in terms of the Gauss hypergeometric function. The relationbetween the leading terms of the instantaneous equation-of-state parameter and different averagedvalues is discussed in the general case. Finally, we discuss the physical significance of the generalisedasymptotic solutions in the oscillatory regime and their matching to the appropriate solutions in thethermalization regime SN 2218-1997 YR 2021 FD 2021 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10498/26625 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10498/26625 LA eng DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Cádiz RD 10-may-2026
