AB The analysis of the issue related to the integration of Ceuta and Melilla into theCustoms Union must go beyond the strictly economics aspects to place it in a much broader, politicaland strategic framework, which can signifcantly condition the future of both Autonomous Cities andconstitute a signifcant step in the process of normalization of their trade relations with Morocco. It istherefore necessary to study the main elements of the debate on the appropriateness and desirabilityof taking into account the scenario particularly conducive to such effects that has been opened upunder the new road map in Spain-Morocco relations. This road map has been designed following therecent ofcial visit to the Kingdon of Morocco, on 7th April, 2022, by the President of the Governmentof Spain, Pedro Sánchez.
