Fungi are traditionally the most frequently studied cell systems and from among the fungi used in biotransformations, Botrytis species stand out for being able to metabolize a wide variety of bioactive compounds. This review covers from the year 2000 up to December 2018 and reports on the application of Botrytis species as biocatalysts.
