AB The purpose of this study is to identify whether cooperativismin Andalusia is related to the territory in which ittakes place. The discovery of a “cooperativism–territory”relationship is of particular interest, given Andalusia’ssignificant territorial diversity and the ability of cooperativesocieties to adapt to different surroundings. Noteworthyamong the results is the greater connectionshown by cooperative societies to the area in which theycarry out their activities, compared with that seen inthe conventional business sector. As such, cooperativesocieties are strategic entities in terms of respondingand adapting to the evolution of certain localized socialneeds emerging in the region of Andalusia.
