RT journal article T1 Impact of local congruences in variable selection from datasets A1 García Aragón, Roberto A1 Medina Moreno, Jesús A1 Ramírez Poussa, Eloísa A2 Matemáticas K1 Formal concept analysis K1 size concept lattice reduction K1 congruence relation AB Formal concept analysis (FCA) is a useful mathematical tool for obtaininginformation from relational datasets. One of the most interesting researchgoals in FCA is the selection of the most representative variables of thedataset, which is called attribute reduction. Recently, the attribute reductionmechanism has been complemented with the use of local congruencesin order to obtain robust clusters of concepts, which form convex sublatticesof the original concept lattice. Since the application of such local congruencesmodifies the quotient set associated with the attribute reduction, itis fundamental to know how the original context (attributes, objects andrelationship) has been modified in order to understand the impact of theapplication of the local congruence in the attribute reduction.
