RT other T1 Inclusion of highly admixed genotypes in grapevine genomic analyses leads to an equivocal reconstruction of its domestication history A1 Blanco Pastor, Jose Luis A2 Biología AB Xiao et al. have added to the growing body of evidence that cultivated grapes have received genes from wild populations. Their conclusion on the adaptive and maladaptive outcome of introgression in grapevines is valid, but due to the inclusion in their analyses of highly admixed genotypes, which are likely the result of recent hybridizations, their findings regarding introgression cannot be strictly associated with historical migration of cultivated grapevines to Western Europe during the earliest stages of domestication.
