Commercial and investment opportunities are the main motivating factors for China. On their side,North African countries perceive China as an economic model and a strategic and political partner.However, China’s inclination towards political and military influence could potentially reshapethe geopolitical balances of the region. On the other hand, the escalation of Sino-American rivalryimplies significant constraints on North African countries’ foreign policy. That is why the relationsbetween China and North African countries are at the same time pragmatic, deepened, and cautious.
