The analysis builds onArcher (2005) and Mortensen(2020) and is carried out through a quantitative (turn-taking,words spoken, average numberof words per turn) and qualitative (morphosyntactic questiontypes) analysis. Quantitativeresults show that complainantsare asked more questions andcan speak less in their answers.Regarding their morphologicalquestion types, in direct examination, high-control questiontypes are asked more to defendants; in cross-examination,the opposite occurs. Accordingto these findings, it may be saidthat a situation of gender asymmetry exists.
