RT book part T1 Trends in prioritization of Test Cases: 2017-2019 A1 Castro Cabrera, María Carmen A1 Garcia Dominguez, Antonio A1 Medina Bulo, María Inmaculada A2 Ingeniería Informática K1 Test case prioritization K1 regression testing K1 systematic literature review K1 TCP K1 software testing AB A core task in software testing is the design of test suites. Large testsuites may take too long to run frequently, and test case prioritiza-tion (TCP) techniques have been proposed to speed up the detectionof faults. These techniques have become increasingly popular andthe number of publications has grown in recent years. Surveys havecovered most of the techniques, but the latest included only publica-tions until 2016: interest is growing, and new proposals have beendeveloped in the last three years. This paper aims to complete thatsurvey by providing the latest developments in TCP to respond tothis growing interest. Specifically, we use the taxonomy proposedby Khatibsyarbin et al. on the most important publications from2017 to the present day (2019). All in all, we found 320 papers inthis period about test case prioritization. The results show that themain techniques used are search-, coverage- and similarity-based.
