The contributions included in the event reflect different moments of the research trajectory, from research-oriented final degree projects to doctoral work at various stages of development. Organised within the framework of the Doctoral Program in Computer Science and the Doctoral School of the University of Cadiz (EDUCA), JIPII contributes to the research training of participants while fostering interaction and collaboration within the computer science community. This proceedings volume collects a selection of the studies presented during the event, offering an overview of current research lines, methodological approaches, and emerging topics addressed by young researchers. The 2026 edition of JIPII brought together doctoral students, academic staff, and guest speakers around a full-day scientific program. The program featured four thematic sessions covering artificial intelligence, data and research methodologies, optimization, simulation and physical models, IoT, distributed systems and cybersecurity, and intelligent applications in health, transport and safety. The event was enriched by a keynote talk by Dr. Diego Castillo Barnes, from the Instituto de Investigación Biomédica de Málaga y Plataforma en Nanomedicina (IBIMA Plataforma BIONAND), entitled “IA biomédica, señales y supervivencia científica: una charla para quienes empiezan”.A total of 20 presentations were delivered during the day. All submitted papers underwent a peer-review process conducted by a program committee of 47 experts representing institutions from Spain, Germany, Portugal, Tunisia, and Chile. The realization of JIPII 2026 was made possible thanks to the involvement and support of various bodies within the University of Cadiz. We extend our sincere acknowledgment to the Direction of the School of Engineering, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program in Computer Science, and the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer, in particular through its Plan Propio, for their valuable support.
