Muṣṭalaḥā l-ḥubb wa-l-ˁišq wa-daraǧātu-humā fī l-maṣādir al-mašriqiyya wa-l-ˀandalusiyya

Abstract

“Los términos ḥubb (amor) y ˁišq (pasión amorosa), y sus grados en las fuentes orientales y andalusíes”. Ambos términos son percibidos por el público en general como sinónimos que sirven para expresar la pasión amorosa que se siente por la mujer, como una suerte de sacralización y sometimiento al poder de la mujer, sin diferencias reales entre ambos. Sin embargo, el rastreo de diversas fuentes de literatura orientales y andalusíes nos ha permitido discernir diversos grados de amor y diversos términos para referirse a este concepto. En este estudio abordamos los dos términos citados y sus grados y categorías en las fuentes literarias orientales y andalusíes a través de las tres obras más importantes que tratan estos términos.

“The terms ḥubb (love) and ˁišq (passion) and their degrees in the Oriental and Andalusi sources”. Both terms, according to most people, are synonyms used to express the passion of love felt towards women, in a sort of sacralization of women and submission to their power. No real differences between them are perceived. However, a perusal of many sources of Oriental and Andalusi literature allowed us to discern different degrees of love and different terms to convey this meaning. Thus, the current study exposes the terms for love and passion and their degrees in Eastern and Andalusi literary sources through the three most important works ever known dealing with these terms.
