Sobre la Constitución de 1812: Las Cortes gaditanas y su impacto en el Perú

Abstract

Este trabajo estudia, por un lado, la representación peruana en las Cortes de Cádiz y, por otro lado, las repercusiones que tuvo la Constitución española de 1812 en el desarrollo del temprano constitucionalismo peruano e hispanoamericano, en este caso a través del análisis de la impronta dejada por el texto español en las Bases de la Constitución Política de la República Peruana de 1822. La Constitución de Cádiz viajó al continente americano llevando consigo la semilla de la libertad que germinó en los distintos procesos de independencia de los países del Nuevo Mundo y que doscientos años más tarde aún se puede apreciar con meridiana claridad.

This paper studies, on the one hand, Peruvian representation in the Cortes of Cadiz, and, on the other hand, the impact of the Cadiz Constitution in the development of early Peruvian and Latin American constitutionalism, in this case through the analysis of the imprint left by the Spanish Code on the Basis of the Constitution of the Republic of Peru of 1822. The seed of freedom brought to America by Constitution of Cadiz germinated in the various processes of independence of the countries of the New World, where two hundred years later you can still appreciate its influence.
